I just recently buried my mother and I'm here visiting her grave today and I wanted to see how the double gravestone looked that was close by my mother's grave and I seen the name on  there Biggs, so I looked up Mr. Biggs from Fairway Middle School where he was a teacher to check the first name. So now I am seeing that this is in fact Mr. Biggs from Fairway Middle School. He was not my teacher but he was a teacher for some of my friends and he was always so nice and soo funny! I was laughing and I really enjoyed just going in the class standing around when I should have been in my own class. LOL I remember his son CW and I thought he was funny like his father. So I wanted to send my condolences to the Biggs family for both your parents! So sorry for your loss!

I worked with Mr. Biggs years ago at Fairway Middle School.  He was  an easy going man and a great Math Teacher.  Since I worked in the front office he would come in to check Mail or whatever business he had.  I remember talking with him about Math as my son was having problems .  Mr. Biggs was  telling me that he liked to make math fun and would use candy  as a tool for learning and how you were rewarded by eating the candy if you got the right answer.  That stuck in my mind all these years and knew he made learning fun for his students.  So very sad to hear of his passing, but know he is in God’s care.   God Bless his family.

I remember when we moved to Texas and we first met David and Kathy.  The four of us became so close.  We went every where together.  We were part of their family and they were part of our family.  We even went on vacation together.  We were always there for each other.  David had the biggest heart and always put God number one in his life.  David you will be missed.  I know you are in a better place.  We love you David.  I know your in a better place.

My condolences for his family.  I met him and his beautiful family while working at Faith Temple's church nursery.   Prayers for his wife, children, family, and friends.  

I can't believe that Mr. Biggs is no longer with us. I remember working summer school with him at Nolan Middle School back in 2004.  He was a very friendly, caring man who was a genius in Mathematics. He was like a chess master that could foresee all the  ways students could get the problem wrong.

I also worked with him at Gateway High School formally Haynes School High. It was an honor, privilege and blessing to talk to him about Math and the Bible.

David will always be a part of me, he was my mentor and teacher above all I learned to trust, and be patient, he had a lot to do with the person I am today, he was always available and easy to talk to, I will always be grateful you were and still a part of my life. Rest easy you earned it.

On behalf of myself, my wife Linda and our children we extend our love  and prayers to the entire Biggs family during this difficult time. 

Marilyn Penna did a wonderful job Explaining some of the reasons David has left a BIG footprint.... having touched  countless lives over the years. 

A heart as big as Texas, full of compassion, combined with action.... with his faith in the forefront he marched with determination and optimism. 

I don’t know how many students he helped over the finish line as he could teach math in a way they could understand — our children in that number!  

Decades of service to kids in the church — he also served along  side of me in The Bus Ministry at Faith Temple for years  - indispensable and humble. 

Kathy and family - you have selflessly shared David with the church and community. Thank you. 

Prayers for peace beyond understanding to fill the void in your hearts. 



My sincerest condolences to all of David’s family. May God comfort your hearts as you grieve, knowing that one day you’ll reunite at Home with Christ. You are loved!

I have many wonderful memories of David -- but the greatest is that he loved God unconditionally.  His contribution to children and education sticks in my mind.  He was a man of truth and integrity -- fun loving and laughable.   He was more like an uncle to my children Jian and Summer, we spent many great times of food, fun and family time with the Biggs Family while our children  were small.  I never knew when David and Kathy were going to show up at our door with diapers and milk for Summer, for they knew after she was born we were struggling financially.  David and Kathy have always been servants to the Lord in everyway.   When my son Jian retired from the Air Force in 2018 and we were planning his retirement -- he told me that he wanted to invite people that influenced his life in a great way -- he asked me to contacted David and Kathy, I gave them the  invite to attend Jian's ceremony.  Although they had to decline for personal reason's ... their heart and prayers were with us during that retirement ceremony.  We love them dearly and treasure our friendship.  Although my heart is broken in the flesh,  I rejoice for my precious friend is in the arms of our almighty father in heaven.

More than 25 years ago as a new teacher to Killeen ISD I was assigned a mentor, David Biggs. He taught me more about teaching than all the classes and books put together. He loved his job, he loved his students. He never shied away from sharing his testimony of Jesus Christ. When he spoke of his wife and family he alway teared up, his capacity to love was inspiring. Mr. Biggs made this world a better place. He will be missed. As certain as he was of Heaven, so too am I. He is making Heaven a better place. My God's loving comfort be with his family.
