Chickie Kelly

Juanita “Chickie” Marie Kelly, age 70, passed away in her home May 25, 2023. She was born July 5, 1952 in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Fleata Moomaw and was soon adopted by George Coolidge and Veronica Moomaw. She married her dear beloved Jackie Paul Kelly in 1971 who preceded her death in 2019.

During her lifetime Chickie was known to go above and beyond to help others. Her volunteer work did not go unnoticed and she was recognized by KISD throughout her many years for her devotion to helping the school. Her involvement in her church brought her comfort and happiness. Insisting on taking care of her grandchildren was something she held dear and true to her heart. So many people felt confident to rely on Chickie to complete tasks for a job well-done.

Chickie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Moomaw.

She is survived by her brothers, Ronald Moomaw, Kevin Moomaw, and Dennis Moomaw. She is also survived by her son, John Kelly and his wife Sheryl Kelly, her daughter Paula Bliton and husband Brent Bliton. Mrs. Kelly is also survived by her grandchildren, Erin Lancaster and husband Caleb Lancaster, Kylie Bliton, Kami Bliton, Kimber Bliton, Ethan Kelly, Evan Kelly and Emily Kelly. Chickie is survived by one great grandchild, Teagen Lancaster. She loved them all so very deeply.

Please join us for visitation on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6pm - 7pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
