Services for Billy D. Parker of Harker Heights will be 2:00pm Saturday December 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church Trimmier 6405 Chaparral Road Killeen, TX. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville, TX.
Billy was born March 29, 1936 in Bell County, Texas to Dee Davis and Clara Parker. Bill was a lifelong resident of Bell County.
Billy passed away December 25, 2013 from complications of a stroke suffered on December 17th.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; brother Mike of Belton and wife Sally, daughter Debra Dollins of Georgetown and husband Mark, son Ronnie Parker of Harrker Heights and wife Linda. Three Granchildren; Adam Parker and wife Carrie of Harker Heights, Meagan Dolllins of Austin, Travis Parker and wife Kerri of Killeen. Four great-grandchildren Bailey, Bevin, Brock and Wesley. Step-daughter Beverly Howell of Salado and husband Steve Creek, and step-daughter Pam Wolff of Gatesville. He is also survived by numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Anna Jean; his brother Kenneth and his parents.
Billy graduated from Salado High School in 1953 and moved to Killeen in 1956. He worked for William Cameron Lumber Company, Killeen Lumber, and Killeen Savings and Loan where he served in various positions, including President, until 1975. Billy made a move to fulltime Real Estate Broker (Parker & Sutton Real Estate) and Appraiser in 1976, he actively appraised properties in the Fort Hood area since 1959, and he was also involved in the development of several residential subdivisions including Sutton Place in Harker Heights.
Billy was actively involved during the 1960’s and 70’s in Community Service, serving in various organizations including President of Killeen Exchange Club 1962-63, Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, American Cancer Society, Homebuilders of Central Texas, President of Killeen Quarterback Club and was honored as ABWA Globe Chapter Boss of the Year.
Billy enjoyed family, friends, golfing and ranching.
Billly was a member of First Baptist Church Trimmier, Killeen Masonic Lodge and Fort Hood Association of Realtors.
Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Trimmier or a Charity of Choice.
