I've known Bea since I was about three or four. She and my mother worked together and she became a wonderful family friend. She was like a second mother to me. I will miss her dearly. I enjoyed all the visits with her throughout the years. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Chacon family. Love you "Aunt" Bea.

From the time I met you, you were special to me. You became my adopted mother and I became the daughter you never had. You called me Muneca,  doll in spanish. We laughted and shared lots of memories.  At work we talked everyday. I  used to love going to visit you at home and  shared our moments in life, good and bad.  In 2013 I retired and moved to SC but always kept in contact with you. In 2015, I returned to TX but not to Killeen.  Went to visit you but something was wrong, you seen distant. When Robert informed me about your move to the nursing home, it was a sad day.  I started remembering how we used to talk about when the time comes to everyone. She loved to be at her house, taking care of plants, dogs, cooking her potatoes and eggs. Oh she loved eggs.  Watching tv was her hobby.   Everytime I visited at the home care, she was sleeping and distant. I will never know if she knew I was there but I do hope she listened when I told her  how much I love her and miss her. Time to rest in peace and in God Hands. I will keep you in my heart forever til we meet again.  Thank you for the memories  and thank God for letting me be part of your life, Ms Bea. Always Tu muneca .
 

In the early 1990’s, we had just moved from Germany to Killeen, Texas and almost immediately, my dad was sent off to Korea via the ARMY. My mother was alone with 2 kids and didn’t know any English but somehow managed to find a home church (Southside Church or Christ) and befriend a wonderful lady who happened to live very close to us and speak Spanish! I connect her to my earliest memories of being in Texas. In fact, I can’t remember what it was like before meeting her. We went trick-or-treating at her house, we’d visit her often because this was before I began elementary school, and my sister and I would often leave my parents to sit with her at church. 
We lovingly called her Mrs. Bea...our first family friend in Texas. 
I was fortunate to say goodbye to her the day before I moved to Tennessee in 2015.

Until we meet again, Mrs. Bea. Thank you for the warm welcome, for being there for my mom when she was alone, the laughter, and for being such a wonderful woman.
