Home-going services for Andrew Leathers, 83, of Chicago, Illinois, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, at Westside Baptist Church, 711 Stagecoach Rd. in Killeen with Rev. Hallie Tolbert Jr., officiating. Repast will follow after the Home-going services. Burial will be Monday, February 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Leathers died peacefully Feb. 2, 2013 in Copperas Cove.
Andrew was hired by the U.S. Postal service in 1952 where he served in numerous positions, until he finally became a truck driver hauling mail. He retired from the post office July 24, 1984 after 32 years of service.
He is survived by his sister Gloria Jones; sons, Arthur Leathers; Andrew E. Leathers; Alfonzo Leathers; Kelly Leathers; and daughter, Edythe Leathers; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Bowers funeral home Friday, February 8, from 6 – 8 p.m.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
