After moving to Texas, Abbigail joined the U.S. Air Force in 2008 (on her father’s birthday). During her time in the Air Force she was stationed at several places including Lakenheath AB England, Minot AFB, ND, Nellis AFB, NV and brief stints in Lithuania and Germany. She touched many lives around the world.
She had many medals and awards to include Airman of the Year while stationed in England. Abbigail quickly attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. She was honorably discharged, disabled veteran from the USAF. Abbigail followed her father’s wishes and continued her education, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Psychology earlier this year. She had a plan and worked it. She was planning to move back to Texas at the first of next year to pursue her Master’s Degree and to be near family in the state of Texas which she loved.
Abbie loved her miniature dachshunds she got while stationed in England. Spike and Thor were her children. Sadly Spikes life was also taken during this ordeal. We are positive Abbi is holding Spike in her arms in heaven.
Abbi is survived by her parents Mike and Alana Rinaldi of Killeen, TX and Gail Rinaldi of Marquette MI. An older brother Alan (Tasha) Rinaldi of Lavergne, TN, and two sisters Bonnie (John) Tripp-Ledesma of Marquette, MI and Alysse Rinaldi of San Antonio, TX. Two step siblings Shane (Cody) Lang of Rutland, OH and Dax (Kayla) Holman of Racine, OH. Maternal grandmother, Bonnie Mickiewicz. Also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she considered family.
Her parents would like to thank a few of her closest friends who helped us through this tragedy and celebration of life: Beau Riley, Maria (Abbi 2.0) Laube, Liz Olson, Van and Toni Bentley and David and Karen Cocco and family. Abbi loved y’all as much as she loved her 4 legged fur babies.
Arrangements are being handled by Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen, TX. Visitation will be Friday, December 1st from 12:00 to 1:30 pm. Interment will be immediately following at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 2pm.
