Bill Konoski

Suddenly, at home, surrounded by loved ones, Bill Konoski - our Geedo, took his last breath and left his worn out mortal body to join his long gone friends and family on the other side.

He leaves to mourn his heart broken family; his beloved wife of 66 years, Eula, his four children; Dennis, Donna (Reid), Dianne (Kerry) and Dean (Tamara) along with his five wonderful grandsons, Logan (Ashley), Bailey, Bryce (Samantha), Liam (Kaylee) and Gavin (Kristin). He also leaves behind nieces and nephews in Vancouver and Seattle.

Bill was a hardworking and fun loving man, intolerant of self-pity. His hobby was work. He briefly served in the army and was stationed in West Vancouver where he met and fell in love with Eula. Bill left to study painting as a trade in Toronto before returning to Kenora to start his own painting/decorating business, Rite-Way Decorators, sixty-six years ago, which his son Dean still runs to this day. Bill's knowledge and expertise on the subject of painting, staining, techniques was impressive. Over the years, working around town and cottage country, his name became familiar to many. Geedo, sometimes recognized as a Steve McQueen look-a-like, was also known for his wild sense of humour and fun loving antics. His love of music was evident in his fiddling, singing in the church choir and Ukrainian Christmas caroling. He loved to croon Frank Sinatra songs around the house and did it well. He was a self-taught pioneer in natural health/nutrition. A self-acclaimed guru in natural healing, Dad was a voracious reader with all health related books and magazines. He did not hesitate to share his knowledge.

For all his life, Bill was very involved with the Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. He served as president for several years and helped run the Bingo.

Bill was also involved in the Ukrainian Business Men's Club for many years. As Bill requested, a simple family gathering will take place to honour his

memory.
