Roberta Robertson (nee Roach)

In her 97th year, our mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Kenora, Roberta was predeceased in 1965 by her husband Senator J.A. “Pete” Robertson and her siblings Maurice, Dorothy, Lawrence, Donald, Margaret, and William. Mourning her passing are her children; Jim (Rosemary), Neil, and Joyce (Len), grandchildren; Jamey (Michelle), Arleigh (Jeff), Mirelle (James), Lee (Jayme and Tucker), and Elizabeth (Paul); sisters in law, Pauline, Shirley, Florence & brother in law, Sugar Robertson as well as numerous nieces and nephews in the Roach and Robertson families.

Roberta graduated as a registered nurse in 1936 and retired after 43 years in a successful career as a nurse and administrator, just in time to relish the joys of being a grandmother. Retirement also brought many simple pleasures that she enjoyed with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the CNIB or Lake of the Woods District Hospital would be gratefully appreciated. Our most sincere thanks to the health care professionals of Birchwood Terrace, Pinecrest, and Lake of the Woods District Hospital who provided our mom with excellent nursing care, comfort and compassion in recent years. A private family memorial will take place.
