Our family is heartbroken with the recent passing of Rob. He was loved and always will be by his wife Sandi and his children, Tyera, Tristen, Rocklen and Brandi. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers Ryan and Ron as well as many family members and friends.
Rob was born and raised in Kenora, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Margaret Lentz whom he loved and cherished. Rob attended school in Kenora and was an avid hockey player, one of the best. Everyone knew it, and if you didn’t know Rob/Lentzy would be sure to let you know. Rob was employed with C.P Rail as a conductor and Engineer. One of his most memorable moments was on one of his last trips as Engineer driving the Christmas train with his children on board.
Rob was shy and rarely spoke his mind, again if you knew Rob, you know he was totally the opposite. He was an open book. He had nicknames for everyone and if you were lucky enough to be given one you are probably laughing and remembering it now. His greatest love, pride and joy were his children. He drove them crazy and loved them fiercely. Time spent away from work was mostly spent with his family at Gummeson’s Camp on Mameigwess Lake. His grandfather started this camp many years ago and it has remained in the family ever since. The beauty of this lake is surpassed by none and the peace and serenity it gives lives on in those who are blessed to be there.
Rob met his wife Sandi when they were teenagers and although their lives took them in different directions their hearts brought them together again. They weathered many storms by clinging to a common denominator … love. When you love someone deeply, you work through the hard times, laugh and celebrate the good times, forgive and endure.
THE ROCK – (written by Sandi for Rob)
OUR LOVE IS LIKE A ROCK
AND WHEN THE WIND BLOWS
I SHALL CLING TO YOU
FOR STRENGTH AND SUPPORT
AND WHEN THE RAIN FALLS
I SHALL SEEK SHELTER WITH YOU
BENEATH THAT ROCK
AND WHEN THE SUN SHINES
I SHALL STAND UPON THE ROCK
WITH YOU BY MY SIDE
FEELING THE POWER AND GLORY
THAT IS GOD
FOR OUR LOVE IS …
LIKE A ROCK
Thank you all for your love and support. You are loved Robbie, always Sandi, Tyera, Tristen, Rocklen and Brandi “LIKE A ROCK”
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brownfuneralhomekenora.com for the Lentz family.
