December 26,1971 - February 1, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rebecca “Becky” Alcock on February 1, 2025, at the age of 53. Becky was a devoted wife, mother, Yaya, daughter, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of so many.
Becky was born in Thunder Bay and moved to Kenora as a child where she married the love of her life Les, and had two beautiful children. Together they built a life filled with love, creativity, and community.
A true artist at heart, Becky had an incredible talent for creating—whether it was sewing ponchos, painting beautiful works of art, or making delicate glass beads. She loved learning new techniques and poured her creativity into her businesses—Kenora Cottage Cozy, Kenora Laser Engraving, and Celebration Memorial. Her passion for art and craftsmanship was matched only by her love for the people around her.
Becky was a dedicated member of the local artisan community. She was a longtime vendor at the Matiowski Farmers’ Market at the Harbourfront and proudly hosted her own Christmas craft show for 30 years, giving local makers a space to share their work. She loved supporting her community, whether through her business, her generosity, or simply lending a helping hand whenever she could.
She found joy spending weekends at camp on Middle Lake, surrounded by family & friends. More recently, she loved being involved in the Lake of the Woods Speedway, cheering on Dustin as he raced. She had a deep love for animals and leaves behind her beloved dog, Dixie, and cat, Whiskey.
Becky loved supporting her family in everything they did. She was always proud of their passions and accomplishments. She will be always remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love and laughter she shared with those around her.
She will be truly missed by her loving husband of nearly 30 years Les, her children Courtney (Karl) and Dustin (Kylie), her grandchildren, Hudson and Adrian whom she adored and her mother Dolores (Dee) Martin. Becky is predeceased by her siblings Dana, Scott, Deborah, and Christine.
We would like to thank our friends and family who have reached out, stopped by and visited us during this difficult time. Having your support has helped us move forward. Thank you to the paramedics, doctors, and nurses at Lake of the Woods Hospital for taking care of Becky in her last moments.
We will be having a Celebration of Life for Becky will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00am at the Pellatt Community Centre, Pellatt, Ontario.
