It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother Raymond Alexander Pelletier on Monday July 29, 2024 at the age of 81. He was the second born in Sudbury Ontario on October 23, 1942 to George and Antoinette Pelletier. Most of his child and teen years were spent growing up in Kenora as one of the Norman boys until he headed off to the University of Manitoba gaining a bachelor’s degree.
From graduating he managed Employment Services starting in Yellowknife, then went to Inuvik. After working in the Northwest Territories he moved to Ottawa and worked as a PM 6 in Hull.
He was predeceased by George and Antoinette Pelletier, surviving brothers and sisters Douglas Pelletier (Linda), Adrienne Kellar (Bill), Therese Vondrasek (Chris), Lawrence Pelletier, Janet Pelletier, Annette Richards (Scott), Michele Pelletier (Clint).
In Ottawa he spent the majority of his life where he enjoyed golfing, dancing and travelling but, always made sure he came back to Kenora for every Christmas and summer vacations, where we enjoyed family games at Christmas and Family Golf Tournaments in the summer.
In 1996 he suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side which did not stop him from living a full and active life, travelling from Canada to Las Vegas Nevada for the winter. In Vegas he still danced with his partner Osaka. He was a master of puzzles, which he took pride in with having them framed. He had a gentle soul that touched everyone that he knew him.
We would like to thank Home Care Support and Wiigwas Elder and Senior Care, for their compassion and support that they gave to our Brother, it was greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 23rd, 2024 at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery at 11:00am.
