Martha Barbara Wilcox

Surrounded by her loving family in a room full of laughter, we said goodbye to our loving mother and grandmother. Her heart was full, and it overflowed onto all who knew her. To miss someone so much means they were extremely special, and we were blessed to have her in our lives. Martha had the kindest soul and was the heart of our family. She is in our hearts forever and will always be missed. We are comforted to know she is happily reunited with her loving husband, sharing her gifts, and smiling down on all of us.

Martha was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Doug, son-in-law Ross, and grandson Michael.

Martha is survived by her children Bonnie (Dave), Jim, David (Merlyn), Doug (Winnifred), Susan (Rick), Debbie (Adam), and Marilyn. Also left to mourn, are her grandchildren Willy (Tanya), Lindsay (Travis), Amber (Chowie), Vincent (Allyn), Jonathon (Michaella), Carlee, Gene (Miranda), and Tyler. Her great grandchildren Kali, Abby, Mackenzie, Noah, Boden, Brix, Jude, Zachary, Kayce, Weston, Jayne, Dalton, Andrea, and Nicholas. Also surviving are her sisters Rose and Kathy, sister-in-law Pauline (Larry), brother-in-law Bob (Bev), sister-in-law Ellen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family has always been Grandma’s focus in life. Grandma had a fulfilled life working full time to raise and support her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She very much enjoyed and was exceptionally skilled at baking, cooking, and knitting - always providing family and friends with beautiful sweaters, socks, hats, mittens, and delicious baked treats. Whether it was a Sunday breakfast, dinner, or holiday gathering, Grandma always prepared a magnificent feast that was enjoyed by all. Every year she donated knitted items in support of the church tea. Grandma will be deeply missed by family, friends, and those who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to thank the nurses at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Dr. Brad Kyle for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
