Mable Madeline Smith

August 6, 1942 – December 9, 2022

Mable Smith, a resident of Whitedog First Nation passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents Peter Smith and Mary Scott, her brothers Jimmy Smith, William Smith, her children Robert Smith, Loretta Smith, Bradly Smith, Jane Smith. Her grandchildren Norman (Scott) Smith, Adrianna Smith, Miranda Smith, Laney Smith and her cousins Marie Kent, Melvina Smith, Margaret Kent, Noella Smith, as well as many other friends and relatives who had passed on before her.

Mable is survived by her children Alex Smith, Nicholas Smith, Helen Smith, Lonny Smith, her grandchildren Cyrena Smith, Gary Smith, Paulette Smith, Loyata Henry, Danny Smith, Marvin Smith, Trevoy Fisher, Nathan Smith, Miranda C. Smith, Robert E. Smith and Jerry Ann Cameron, as well as her nephew Roger Smith (Melviny), her cousins Suzie Bunting, Celene Scott, Eliza Scott, Barbara Scott, Rose Scott and Evelyn Scott.

She was a very kind woman, she was a homemaker who loved being at home raising her children. She enjoyed picking rice, picking berries and going fishing and camping and hunting with her husband.

A wake service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Whitedog Community Hall. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Whitedog Community Hall with burial to follow in Whitedog, Ontario.
