With her family by her side, Judy Ross (nee Anderson) passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre at 75 years of age.
Judy is lovingly remembered by her husband Vic of 57 years, son David Ross (Thanh Nguyen), daughter Cathy Halley (Leo), grandchildren Colton and Logan, sisters Lois Bourgouin, Elaine Alcock (Lorry), niece and nephews Laurie, Patrick, Justin and Dylan. Judy was predeceased by her parents Vic and Bertha Anderson, her in-laws Vic and Sally Ross and her brother-in-law Leon Bourgouin.
Judy was born in Kenora August 9, 1949 and lived the first 6 years of her life in Ingolf, Ontario which always held special in her heart. Her family moved to Kenora in 1955, for her dad's employment, where she attended local schools Central, Evergreen and Beaver Brae.
She was a stay-at-home mom until she began working for local physicians, Drs. King, Loewen, Scaife, Daly and Workman. She was a very caring, compassionate and kind person and made lasting friendships with her co-workers as well as patients. Judy worked in the office until she retired to become a stay-at-home Nan to look after her grandchildren, her favorite job in the world.
Family meant everything to Judy, and she loved spending time with them. She enjoyed long walks, taking nature photos, listening and singing along to music, attending concerts and trips to the casino with her mom, aunt and sisters. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing-especially doll clothes, reading, gardening, and watching Coronation Street daily.
She travelled with her family to Florida, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Las Vegas and her favourite place, Hawaii. Judy and Vic also made several trips to England to visit their dear friends, Mark and Kay.
Judy liked to cook and bake for family and friends. She lovingly shared whatever she made and it was always delicious. Her warm nature, contagious smile, and positive attitude will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Honouring Judy's wishes, a family graveside service will be held at a later date at Lake of the Woods Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to It's a Dog's Life or to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in charge of arrangements.
