It is with deep sadness we announce that Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother left us to be with Dad and our brother Kenneth. Joyce was born in Kenora and spent her whole life dedicated to her family and her volunteerism. She loved music, learning how to play accordion, she went on to teach it, then came piano making her way up to Grade 8 with the Toronto University Conservatory of Music. As a young Polish girl, she and her friends from the Polish Hall in Norman, began attending dances and there she met the love of her life, Paul, who just so happened to be playing fiddle in the band. She caught his eye and their love life began.
They were married in August 1954 and started their family, and farm, raising cattle, chickens, pigs, growing a huge vegetable and flower garden. They both joined the 4H club and later it changed to the Agricultural Society which Mom stayed on as a Director for several years. She loved Girl Guides, for more than 50 years of volunteering, her career began as a guide leader plus a camp leader, she then became the Kenora District Commissioner receiving several awards for her dedication to the Girl Guides of Canada movement. She was also a volunteer and member at the Senior Horizons Centre, leading a class of line dancers, she loved the people and the conversations she had with them. She then joined the Kenora Bell Ringers performing around the City at different events.
Mom was a devout Catholic, she attended mass every week at Notre Dame du Portage until she could no longer do so and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2014 and her son Kenneth in 1976, her parents Josephine and Stanley Znamerowski, Paul’s parents James and Agnes Wyder, his sisters and brothers, Joe and Vivian Wyder, Helen and Tom Malo, John and Helen Wyder, Anne and Robert Sasena, and Charles Vitant Wyder in 1944 during the war.
She is survived and deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Angela and Cam Schussler, Tyler and Nicole, Mackenzie and Lexie, (Kenley and Rylan); Garry and Ellen Wyder, Michelle and Sam Mucha (Emma and Hadley), Holly, Pauline and Austin Hale (Leo); Gloria and Pat Mejia, Brooks and Kim (Sophie and Avery), Logan and Dana, Madison and Jaime. Also survived by several cousins, great nieces and nephews from near and far.
