John Van de Wetering
With the sky a beautiful blue, the sun shining brightly through the tall pine trees, and with family by his side, our dad and Grandpa John chose Wednesday, March 18, 2015 to say goodbye. He was born November 7, 1927 to Gerrit and Helena Van de Wetering in Hilversum, Holland. He leaves to mourn his loving wife and best friend of over 60 years Henriette (Jettie). He is survived by his daughter Mary (Kevin) Walkoski, son Robert (Lea-Anne) Van de Wetering, his sister Edie Carlson and her family, grandchildren, Michael, Brenda (Colin), Leanne (Brandon) Tyrvainen, Liam, Lane and Alivia Van de Wetering. Special thanks to friends that visited him at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital and also to the staff of Pinecrest Nursing Home for their care, attention and compassion throughout his illness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society, 618 9th Street N., Kenora, Ontario P9N 2S9. Immediate cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will be held at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery, at a later date.
“our hearts will be together forever, even when we’re apart!”
