James was born in Vancouver on the 25th of October 2002 to his parents James Fleury and Sylvia Klyne. He was the oldest of four siblings. He was a devoted son and brother, and his exceptional loyalty to his family never faltered. As a boy he lived in Winnipeg, Dryden, Dauphin, and Kenora. He spent several years in foster homes where he had opportunities to pursue some of the things he loved, like hockey and soccer, but he longed for his family. When he was eleven years old, he was adopted by the Wolke family with his three younger siblings, Latisha, Tyrell, and Alexis. The Wolke’s have been deeply blessed to be able to share some of James’s life and touched by his genuine goodness of heart and capacity for love in spite of his many losses and hurts. James’s honourable loyalty to his parents led him back to his mother, Sylvia, when he was sixteen. With her he was able to connect again with aunts, uncles and cousins, and in particular his Koko Brenda, and his youngest sister Breanna. He was also able to spend time with his father James. When James was 20 years old his beloved mother passed away, and now, less than two years later, after a prolonged illness he has followed her, late on the eve of her birthday, December 1.
James is survived by his father James Fleury in Dryden, Koko Brenda and Aunts Rhonda and Lisa in Dauphin, Uncle Roland and Aunts Shelley, Pam and Jen in Winnipeg, Uncle John in Dryden, siblings Latisha and Breanna in Winnipeg and Tyrell and Alexis in Kenora, and many other beloved cousins and relations. His memory will also be lovingly cherished by his adoptive parents Marcus and Joanne, and adoptive grandparents Vivian, Alfred and Lina, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. He is loved and will be deeply missed.
There will be a funeral at Notre Dame du Portage Church on Friday, 13th of December at 1:00pm followed by coffee and sandwiches at the Wolke residence, 28 Davis Road. For those unable to attend, a live stream will be available at https://fweb.tv/161638
