It is with heavy hearts that we make known the sudden passing of our father, Frank Schilling at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on August 29th 2011, with family at his side.
Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Schilling, daughters Diana (Rene) Schmidt, Brenda (Hugh) Robertson, and son Brian (Linda) Schilling. Grand children: Victoria, Jennifer, Michael, Patrick, Brant, Ashley, Sabrina, Keishia, and 6 Great Grand Children: Frank is also survived by sisters Rose Howells, Kaye Dyck, Marge Becker, and Minnie Hildebrandt.
Dad was born on a farm in Bromhead Saskatchewan, October 1st 1926 and was the youngest brother of 9 children. Dad met Mom while working at the Brandon General Hospital. They were married in Brandon on July 1st 1949. They moved to the Kenora area in 1950 and raised their family. Dad worked various jobs until he started at the Kenora Post Office in 1957. Dad retired from the Post Office in 1989 after 32 years of service. In the years that followed Dad enjoyed Beachcombing and metal detecting with Mom at his side. As the years past by his primary focus became the support and caring for his loving wife Jean.
Dad lived his life with a chuckle, a grin, and a light heart. Always putting others first.
Dad’s life will be celebrated at a private family gathering on Friday and then laid to rest in the Kenora Cemetery. In of honor of Frank donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
