March 3, 1946 – February 18, 2023
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Francine Ava Lee (Greene), yet celebrate she went to be with her Lord and Saviour on February 18, 2023 at the age of 76 with her family by her side.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Robert Grant Lee, Douglas Wayne Lee, his wife Ramona and their sons Jordan and Aaron, sisters Bertha Holmstrom, Gloria Hyde, brothers Fred Greene Jr., Carl Greene, Stewart Greene, Bradley Greene, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was born to parents Fred Greene (Greenfeather) and Doris Greene (Mandamin), on March 3, 1946 in Shoal Lake, Ontario.
Francine loved to help her dad promote and sell his artwork. She also loved to help her mother harvesting wild rice., she became a Social worker and worked with Corrections Canada for a number of years. She later worked as a teacher of the Ojibway language at David Kejick school.
Francine cherished her time with family. She enjoyed sitting in the flower garden reading and being interrupted with the daily visits from her zhiishiibag. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and air guitar.
She also enjoyed searching for the elusive Sasquatch while out in nature. She was a big fan of the Winnipeg Jets (#55 Scheifele) and she especially enjoyed watching her grandsons play football.
She was preceded in death by her son Randy Gordon Lee, her sisters Hilda (Major), Julia (Redsky) and parents Fred and Doris.
A wake is scheduled for Thursday, February 23, 2023 beginning at 1:00pm at the Shoal Lake #39 Community Centre.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Shoal Lake Community Centre with interment to follow.
The family has entrusted Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre with the arrangements.
