June 25, 1946 – March 24, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane, our beloved mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Fidelia Quinton, husband Allan Bradley, brothers Gordon, Jim, and Stanley as well as niece Rita, nephews Bobby Jr. and Jim Jr.
She is survived by her children Leanne Anderson (Pete) and Necole Anderson (Marwan), brother Robert Quinton (Marge), grandchildren Madisyn Dell and Nicholas Sayed, brother-in-law Pete Bradley, sisters in law Gail and Shirley Quinton, as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Mom was born in Kenora, Ontario, the youngest child of Charles and Fidelia Quinton, only sister to four older brothers.
She ventured out west in 1965, following love to Calgary then to Prince Rupert and Victoria. When she returned to Kenora in 1972 she brought back two young daughters, her pride and joy. She raised Leanne and Necole with Rolf Anderson, whom she married in 1977. She later married Allan Bradley in 1994.
Mom (often affectionately known as Lady Di to those that knew her) was fiercely independent, a talented artist, creative writer, crafter, a great cook, and most of all, she was a great mom and friend. She loved to have a good laugh and gave great life advice.
In her early life she worked in retail and food services and then partnered in a TV repair business with her former spouse, Rolf. She loved to entertain and play cards. She was good fun and had a wacky and wonderful sense of humor. She was sentimental and loved special occasions, especially Christmas.
Following the passing of her husband Allan in 2015, she adopted Sonny, her cherished retriever, to share her life. Anyone who knew mom knew the endless love she had for her faithful furry friend.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to Cathy Trask, Drs. Tim Wehner and Shannon Wiebe, Lake of the Woods District Hospital and Pinecrest Home for the Aged for their compassion and dignified care.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. For those unable to attend, a live stream will be available at https://fweb.tv/107310
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to A Dog’s Life https://adogslife.cc/ or Alzheimer Society Kenora/Rainy River District Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts.
