It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of David in his home at the age of 73.
David lived in Naotkamegwanning/Whitefish Bay, Ontario nearly all his life, where he enjoyed being with family and friends. David was a soft-spoken, kind man and had a good sense of humour, he would say anything out of the blue and make you laugh. David is also a St. Mary’s Indian Residential School survivor, though he never looked back at I.R.S. For many years David worked at various camps in Sioux Narrows as a fishing and hunting guide. He also worked in Whitefish Bay alongside friends and family doing carpentry and for a few years was also a night security watchman. David was a very hard worker.
David is predeceased by his father, Alec Bird and mother Genevieve Bird and sisters Mary Agnes, Gloria, Laura, great-nephew Gregory Skead. He will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many relatives and friends.
Wake Services will be held at the Bird residence, 2104 West End Drive on Thursday, June 22, 2017.
Traditional Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow.
