It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of our father, our son, our brother, our nephew, our cousin, our friend, Christopher Cody Amos Crow on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Cody was born on February 7, 1980, adopted and raised by his late parents, George and Lorna Crow, in the community of Naotkamegwanning. It brings peace to the family knowing that he is reunited with his parents.
He is also predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Isaac and Agnes Paypompee, paternal grandparents, Albert and Alice Crow, his biological mother Roberta Elders, brothers Zachariah Scragg and Ti-jean Olscamp, his uncle Thomas, auntie Clara, his cousin Kelvin, as well as his close cousins, he called brothers, Bruce “Booshie”, Dayton, Lavern “Luv”, and Naz.
Cody leaves behind his beautiful daughters, Cheyra and Kyra, along with their mother Tiffany, his brothers Bob Elders, Travis Fox, Tyler Fox, and Jacob Olscamp and those he called sisters, Renata, Staz and Monica. His Uncles Francis (Betty), Don, Terry (Debbie), Norman (Anne), Bruce, Amos (Barb) and his aunties Vivian (James), Luanne, Rosanne, Donna, Yvonne (David), and his Crow and Morrison family, along with numerous cousins and relatives too many to name, and Kylee and her children.
As a child, Cody was always playing outside with his cousins, who were all like brothers and sisters. He was rich in love.
Cody spent most of his adult life working at Baibombeh Anishinabe School, he enjoyed his work, interacting with the students, he was good with kids, just like his mom. The students will surely miss him. He liked to participate in community events, namely Bingo, his dad loved Bingo. Cody was an old soul, who liked to enjoy coffee on the porch early in the mornings, and loved animals. He also leaves behind his dog, Jersey.
Wake services will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at Northwest Angle 37 Rec Hall, followed by a traditional service on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10:00 am.
Pallbearers are Bobby, Travis, Rudger, Lester, Mahengun, Beemus, Elijah, and Wendell. Honorary pallbearers are Tracy, Bonita, Michelle, Nicole, Rochelle, Kelly, Jenna, Jesse, Shane, Nadya, and Crystal.
The family would like to thank Naotkamegwanning FN, Shawendaawsowin, Northwest Angle 37, Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Treaty #3 Police, and Naotkamegwanning Ambulance attendants.
