Carol you were forever the advocate for so many things. You were inclusive of everyone and always willing to put your irons in the fire to help. I am grateful that I had the chance to know you better in the past few years. Will miss you. Rest well.

Oh, Carol, How I will miss you cuz! I admired you! You encouraged me  to begin carrying out family research 40 years ago. We continued sharing ideas, new finds and  our lives as recently as 3 weeks ago when you gave me permission to mention you in my Rotary presentation as a polio survivor We both truly were survivors of that deadly disease. I was so fortunate to have had you in my life, Carol.  Rest easy.

I was very sorry to hear of Carol’s passing and I send my condolences to her family and friends. I worked closely with Carol for a decade in the establishment and growth of the Keewatin Forever endowment Fund at the Community Foundation, that she and Stan Phinney started in 2008. Carol was a devoted volunteer to all things Keewatin related and she wanted to ensure that the good work of Keewatin’s charities would never be forgotten. Who could forget Keewatin ‘s Summer Splash celebrations on July 1,  with the parade, bike decorating  and all the events enjoyed by children, families and seniors?  Carol was funny, kind and a pleasure to work with. She was also a very proud Canadian. We will miss you Carol ! Thank you for being an inspirational community builder in Keewatin and beyond. I was sorry to hear we have lost another Keewatinite. Carol was a fierce protector of all things Keewatin. Although she was involved in many community endeavours, I particularly remember her work and advocacy as we fought to save our beloved Keewatin Library and Senior’s Centre a few years ago. Condolences to Carol’s friends and family. RIP Carol, Keewatin will miss you.

I will miss you dearly.  Our weekly phone calls kept us grounded to our past.  You were the personification of the Keewatin spirit.  Rest in peace my friend.

I remember Carol very well. As an Anglican, I remember her as Parish Secretary for some years in the 1980's. She was very dedicated to her job.
She was always front and centre with her service to the Legion and her work in promoting tourism.
She was on our Fiesta Friends trip to Cuba in 2016 and, we had many good conversations then.
May she rest in peace.

community minded person. she single handed made the keewatin fund a successful venture.  working with her was indeed a pleasure. her special  touches for my mother's funeral Will  never be forgotten.. I'm sure imba made your final journey a gentle ride. Will miss my dear.

Carol , just a wonderful person.  She made sure that my Dad and Uncle’s pictures were on the veteran memory tree.  Another Keewatin person that will be deeply missed.  One of organizers of the Keewatin Public School reunions.    RIP Carol.

So sad to hear of Carol’s passing.  Her heart was definitely with Keewatin.  She always had a project on the go whether it was at the legion, looking after the veterans memorial tree, or the keeper of our family tree. She will be missed. Condolences to all that knew her.

It was my great honour to know Carol, ‘Whips’ as we knew her, her nickname chosen by war hardened citizens who’d paid the highest price when Albert Storm killed in Afghanistans combat needed a living tribute through his brother George and the community of Kenora with CAV Unit Hindenburg Line. Year after year she would ‘whip’ every activity into shape setting the highest standard in how to show respect to our fallen and their family’s. Giving of herself always will be her legacy to our National CAV family, We Will Never Forget Her!!!

So saddened to hear of your loss.  You have bravely struggled with your disease and now it's time to rest.  You will be missed and never forgotten.

Another Keewatinite gone. Carol was a true ‘Keewatin Girl’; she advocated for anything to do for our community. She will be missed. Rest in Peace Carol - your fight is over.

I am so sad to hear this, I took Gentle Water fit with her at the Rec Centre. Carole was the light of the group and always made us laugh.
I also spent time with her during a Memorial Motorcycle Ride too. Carole you left your mark on this world, and you left me good memories that I will cherish..
