He is survived by his wife of 44 years Margaret, son Aaron (Lori) and their son Austin, daughter Leah Thomas (Glenn) and their children, Anna, Lily and Benjamin, and daughter Andrea (Rodi Plamondon) and son Cole. Bill was born at home in Sirco, MB and lived in Manitoba until he moved with his family to Kenora in 1989 to enjoy the cottage life year round. Bill worked for Pepsi Cola for 22 years before his retirement.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and his annual hunting trip with his buddies in Sundown Manitoba. He was known for being a good spirited prankster and was “loved” by all who were lucky enough to be a part of them. He was also known as the neighborhood “hardware” department for any part or piece you might need.
Bill was the best grandpa and father that any of us could ask for. He enjoyed swimming with his kids and grandkids and taking them for tube rides around the lake. He was also the king of snatching up the kids and singing them his special “Waltzing Matilda” lullaby.
His family and friends will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre at 11:00 a.m. August 4, 2015, with a reception to follow at Minis Hall (the Super 8).
In honor of Bill, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
