It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, cousin of Albert.
On his way to his spirited journey he leaves behind his sisters Dorothy Indian of Keewatin, Agnes (Reuben) Cantin of Wabigoon, brothers Fred Morrison (Gail Skead) of Wauzhushk Onigum and Jerry Morrison (Kelly) of Kenora, Uncle Joe Morrison (Mary Alice) of Kenora as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren and many friends he met through his life journey.
Albert was born in Emo, raised in Onigaming First Nation. He lived in Kenora until his Creator called him home.
He was a respected elder and healer. He would travel great distances to help families and friends with spirited ceremonies. He frequently travelled to the Pas, Pukatawagan, Manitoba.
He was a humble man and would be remembered by his unique laugh, Albert will always be remembered as a man who would go out of his way to help family and friends in need. He was always helping others and never asking for anything in return.
He also enjoyed sitting at the casinos with his buddies. During his early years living in Onigaming, he enjoyed fishing and also was a guide for Black Bear Camp. He also enjoyed playing hockey as a goalie.
Albert was also well known mechanic within the community and was more than willing to help anyone who needed his expertise.
Albert took pride in watching his nephews playing baseball and hockey during the seasons, making his favourite foods of bannock and dumpling soup.
Predeceased by his parents Ella (Bob) and Allister Morrison, brothers Donald, Edwin, Mike, Conrad, brother in laws Stan Indian and sister Rosanne Kelly Morrison.
Pallbearers will be his nephews; Timmy Skead, Barry Indian, Conrad Paypompee, Kinnock Indian, Russell Kelly, Sheldon Morrison, Ryan Fair, Reuben Cantin Jr. & Bear Copenace.
Wake Services were held on Saturday, March 05, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Onigaming Gymnasium.
Funeral Services were held on Sunday, March 06, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Harry Windigo presiding.
