Mrs. Wilma Noreen Brown, age 76, of Acworth, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and family in heaven on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Our precious mother and sister put up a good fight to stay here with us on earth but her earthly body finally had to set her free.
Noreen was born on August 18, 1940 in Acworth, GA, a daughter to the late Norman Bennett and Ethel Evans Bennett. She worked as a Real Estate Investor for many years, owning Bennett Properties Inc. for over thirty-five years. Noreen loved her business and was very driven in diligently working to make it extremely successful. All of her customers considered her a friend, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t give or do to help anyone in their time of need. As hard as she worked developing her business, she dedicated just as much, if not more, time being a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister. Every summer she would take her children and grandchildren to the beach and that’s where countless, priceless, memories were made. Her heart for helping those in need was evident, whether it was with her words of wisdom, a shoulder to cry on, a little money, or just simply being there. She was known as ‘Noreen’ to most everyone, but to her family she was known as ‘Een’. Whether she was being called Noreen or Een, she was extraordinary and will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Brown and siblings, Velma Rampley and Calvin Bennett.
Noreen is survived by her four children, Kenney Grier, wife Tina, of San Antonio, FL, David Grier, wife Synthia, of Acworth, GA, Michelle Flanagan of Woodstock, GA, and Kelley Barber, husband Scott, of Canton Ga; nine grandchildren, Jesse Grier, Justin Grier, Jonathan Grier, Taylor Flanagan, Jenna Flanagan, Luke Barber, Nate Barber, Tyler Garner, and Jordan Garner; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Sewell and Brooklyn Cagle; three sisters, Joy Camp, husband Glover, Murl Boehlke, husband Dave, and Susan Merrill, husband Jimmy; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive. A special thank you to her caretakers for the past few months, Jesse Barker and Amber Powell.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Noreen will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with
Rev. Jerry Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth, GA.
A visitation with the family will take place from six o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
