William “Bill” Jefferson Tillery, age 89, of Marietta, died Friday, January 13, 2017. Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 18, 2pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Pastor Robert Ledbetter officiating.
Mr. Tillery served our country honorably in US Navy right after WWII while America was the force that occupied Japan. Bill was member of the greatest generation, a time in our history when people were self-educated. After his military commitment, his trade became heating and air where he would become the owner/operator of Tillery Heating and Air. In his spare time, Mr. Tillery enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his sons – Greg Tillery of Athens and Clay Tillery of Marietta; daughters – Bali McGill of Kennesaw, Denise Jenkins of Marietta, and Lori Rice of Tallapoosa; brother – Don Tillery; sisters – Joann Tillery of Johns Creek and Judy Bartel of Dunwoody. Bill is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by several family members.
The family has cordially invited friends to visit with them on Wednesday prior to service beginning at 12 O’clock.
