William ‘Bill’ Clarence Reese, age 88, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born on October 7, 1931 in Cleveland, OH, to his late parents; Paul and Mildred Byers Reese. Bill was retired, he had worked in construction for many years. Some of Mr. Bill’s hobbies include playing solitaire, watching the Atlanta Braves, playing the Georgia Lottery and spending time with his family. Bill served faithfully in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Mr. Reese was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Reese.
Mr. Reese is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna Marie Zunic Reese of Cartersville, GA, daughter, Barbara and her husband, Kirk Edginton of Cartersville, grandchild; Athena and her husband, Jonathan Porter of Hampshire, TN; great grandchildren; Charlie Porter, Camber Porter, and one on the way Reese Porter, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Bill Reese will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM from the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Manning officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers; Kirk, Jonathan, Rich, Corey, Heath, and Burton. Military honors will be performed at the cemetery by the United States Army Honor Guard. The family will receive friends for a visitation at the funeral home on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time) If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Winknhofer Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Reese safe.
