William "Red" Harold Edwards

APRIL 20, 1931 – SEPTEMBER 19, 2023

William H. “Red” Edwards, 92 of Kennesaw, GA passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Red was a longtime resident of Cobb County moving here in 1952.

He is survived by his children, Vicki L Kilbourne (Doug), Chris Edwards (Terry), and Laurie Edwards. He had 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Helen Hammett.

Red had a very large family which he adored and was with them constantly. He and his wife loved to entertain their large family.

Red was born in Atlanta, GA on April 20, 1931. He attended Atlanta public schools. He started at the University of Georgia, then transferred to Georgia State University where he graduated.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and after discharge went to work at Lockheed for 19 years, working up to management where he was manager of Jetstar support. As such, he traveled the world for Lockheed.

In 1971, he bought Cobb County Realty, Inc., and left Lockheed for the real estate business. He worked in real estate the rest of his life, where he made many friends.

He leaves a large and loving family.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Pinetree Country Club, Kennesaw, GA. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation until 2:00 p.m.
