at his residence, surrounded by the family that he loved beyond measure.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Huckaby Coile, his son Derek Coile (Monica), his daughter Allison Coile Powers (Scott), his granddaughters Ashton Powers, Katie Powers, Addie Coile and Ella Coile. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Mark Coile, and his parents, William Hoke Coile and Jessie Booth Coile.
He was born in Madison County GA July 22, 1932.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was a father figure to so many throughout the years. His faith in God and his generosity to family and friends was a testament to the way he lived his life. The love and loyalty he held for his family was unmatched, and his four granddaughters were his pride and joy.
His hobbies included tinkering in his garage as he listened to his favorite music which could be country, Christian or classical. Gardening and working in his yard gave him the most pleasure and he took pride in having the best lawn on the block.
He was loved by all who knew him as they enjoyed his creative personality and his own special way of storytelling. The most impressive attribute was how in simple ways, he had a major impact on so many lives by just being himself.
Through the years, he was a small business owner, employed at Battey State Hospital, in Rome, Georgia, and then completed 25 years service with Interstate Brands, in Columbus, Georgia.
He was a resident of Columbus, Georgia for 41 years and a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God for 32 years.
His family is especially grateful for the loving care given to him by Thrive Home Health Care, Wellstar Community Hospice, and Atlanta Alzheimer’s Association.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Evangel Temple Assembly of God, Columbus GA.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
