Visitation will be at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge on Thursday, May 26 at 6:00 – 9:00 PM. A celebration service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday the 27th at New Salem Baptist Church with the Reverends Nicholas Pepper and Dr. Chris Bryan officiating the service.
A native of Cherokee County, Mrs. Preast moved to Cobb County in 1962. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 17, and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She worked at Marietta Federal, and then retired from Lockheed Credit Union.
Virginia is survived by her husband, James L. Preast; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cheryl Preast of Loxley, Alabama; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kelli Preast of Chattanooga, Tennessee, a daughter and son-in-law, Mala and Nicholas Pepper of Kennesaw; 4 granddaughters; and her two brothers and their wives, Herman and Ann Cantrell of Canton and Myron and Joy Cantrell of Kennesaw. Pallbeares; Dusty Cantrell, Rick Wilkins, Eddie Preast, Jon Carmean, Jack Ellison and Randy Cochran.
Winkenhofer-Pine Ridge Funeral Home of Kennesaw is in charge of arrangements.
