Tom was born in Hawkinsville, GA on August 23, 1949. He graduated from the University of GA and then attended Georgetown University where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He started practicing dentistry in 1978 and continued until 2 weeks before his death. Tom truly loved his job and his patients. They were like “family” to him.
Tom loved his wife Shari dearly. His other loves included his dogs Ruby and Murphy, the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, music, reading, golf and a good bottle of wine.
He is survived by his wife, Shari Turner
Children: son, Taylor Turner, daughter, Caroline Turner and daughter, Torie Waskiewicz
Granddaughter: Emma
Sister: Elizabeth “Libba” Turner
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Kirby Smart Family Foundation.
A celebration of gathering for Thomas will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
