Tom served in the Army for 22 years as a Chaplain. He also served as a pastor at Soperton First Baptist
Church, Pooler First Baptist Church, and Morning Star Baptist Church.
Tom enjoyed preaching, singing, fishing, playing solitaire, and reading. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Byerly; his sons Chris Byerly (Whitney); and Jeremy Byerly; his grandchildren Gracie Anne Byerly, Allie Byerly and Haddon Byerly; his brother Ken Byerly (Ann); and his sister Pam Foose (Ted).
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 16, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 2056 Hiram Douglas Hwy, in Hiram, GA, 30141, with visitation at the church one hour before the service.
