Suzanne Carol McClain, age 70, died Tuesday October 25, 2016. She was born April 16, 1946 to the late Franklin P. and Alma Gortner in West Haven, Connecticut. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and later Hewlett Packard prior to marrying the love of her life, Bill McClain in 1971. They resided in Wallingford, Connecticut until moving to Acworth, Georgia in 1992. She loved life and enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, cooking and visiting with friends. She was a member of the Allatoona Quilt Guild and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Club. She enjoyed swimming and aquatic fitness classes. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William McClain and four brothers in law: Edwin McClain (Heidi), Gary McClain (Suze), Jon McClain, and Andrew McClain. A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday October 29, 2016 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Kennesaw, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Inc. The family will be receiving family and friends 1pm until 2pm Saturday October 29, 2016, at the funeral home. Suzanne will be missed by all who knew her.
