Marjorie “Susan” Caneup, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the age of 72 after a life well lived with no regrets. Susan was born on January 29, 1950, in Marietta, GA to Harvey and Ann Cantrell. She was a 1968 graduate of North Cobb High School. She was an original hippy through and through. She went on to break barriers and excel in the insurance industry while taking care of her young son Mark. She was known by all for her fiery personality and humor, and she loved to tell funny (sometimes inappropriate) jokes to anyone that would listen. It wasn’t until the 1990’s that she decided to settle down with her loving husband of 25 years, Eddy Caneup, and raise her granddaughters as her own. In retirement, she enjoyed tending to her plants, shopping, and spending time with her great-granddaughter Charlie and her loving pets. She never passed on an opportunity to go to the beach! She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile and personality, and her kind and compassionate spirit. Susan was preceded in death by her mother Ann Cantrell and her son Mark Smith. She is survived by her husband Eddy Caneup, Father Harvey Cantrell, granddaughters Kaylyn and Jordyn Smith, great-granddaughter Charlie Halverson, bonus children Bruce, Chrissy, and Wesley, several grandchildren, sister Kim McGrath (Donny), and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A visitation for Susan will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM.
