He was 89.
Stan grew up in Manasquan, NJ. He joined the Army and served in the Korean War, was wounded in battle and awarded the Purple Heart when he was just 18 years old.
He raised his family in Bricktown, NJ and made his living as a carpenter, a gasoline tanker truck driver and a school bus driver for the Bricktownship School System for many years. "Mr. Clayton" is still well remembered by the many kids who rode his bus. He was a sports enthusiast and was active in youth sports coaching little league and ice hockey. Stan was especially passionate about golf being an excellent player and continued to play until his passing.
Stan moved to Kennesaw, GA in 1976 and continued to drive a tanker truck and then a school bus until his retirement. He continued to work with kids in sports and he mentored students in chess at Awtry Middle School in Kennesaw.
He is survived by his loving wife Billie and four of his five beloved children: Larry, Linda, Curt, and Kathie. Sadly his daughter Kim pre-deceased him in 2020. He is also survived by his step children Judy, David, and Eric Isbrecht (deceased in 2020). He has 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Stan was a huge presence in the lives of everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed. He loved his family, his golf, his bananas, and he really loved his Jiff.
