Jane was born on April 16, 1938, to Horace Eugene Wigley and Ida Irene Maddox Wigley in Kennesaw, GA. She was one of six children, and worked at Kennestone Hospital for many years until she retired in 2001.
She loved cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves, listening to country music, enjoying food from Red Lobster & Cracker Barrell and watching soap operas (after she retired). She had a strong work ethic, and always provided for her children. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would tell anyone about them that would listen. She was extremely humble, cared about others, was feisty & strong-willed to the end.
Jane was predeceased by her father Horace, her mother Irene, her younger sisters Wylene (& David) & Maxine (& Ed), her younger brothers Gene (& Annette) & Jerry. She is survived by her younger brother Herman “Shorty” (& Marilyn), her two children Linda (Lester) & Doug; her three grandchildren Lindsey, Branden & Zach; and her two great grandchildren Asher & Hannah. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends, but they find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain & is whole again in Heaven with Jesus.
There will not be a visitation. Her graveside service will be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth, GA on Monday, July 24th at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be sent to Calvary Children’s Home in Powder Springs, GA.
