Mr. Ronald (Ronnie) Archie Lanier of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at the age of 78. He was born in LaGrange, GA on July 11, 1942 to the late Tom and Mildred Lanier. Dad was an avid pilot and loved to fly planes and helicopters. Flying was a passion for him from an early age which never faded over the years. In the late 70’s he and his brother Tommy started their own business “Superior Electric Contractors and Associate’s”. Together they built the company from the ground up creating incredible security and future for the entire family. Dad also had a passion for animals. He seemed to have a connection with them that was easy to notice. At any given time he was known to have a variety of “pets” including an Alligator, Buffalo, Cattle, Racoons, snakes and even a stray turkey and opossum from time to time. Not to mention the dogs. Whether they were his or belong to someone in the family, they all soon took up with dad and he became their favorite. Dad also loved to hunt and fish. If he wasn’t chasing squirrels or hunting a massive buck, he was planning an offshore fishing trip or fishing in the grass flats of St Marks or Steinhatchee Fl. Dad never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Most importantly he was a man that loved his family dearly and would do anything for a friend. He will be dearly missed by us all.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Lanier; son, Ken Lanier of Powder Springs, Georgia; son, Ricky and his wife Melissa Lanier of Dallas, Georgia; daughter, Teresa and her husband Joe Monroe of Cumming, Georgia; brother, Tommy and his wife Nancy Lanier of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Sandra Kendrick of Acworth, Georgia; grandchildren, Ashley and her husband Alex Pszczola, Megan Sears, Morgan Sears, Hunter Lanier, Josh Monroe, Alexis Monroe; great grandchild, Jillian; and a number of other family members and friends.
