Rodney's nephew Tayler Shane Warren in the left, with Rodney Michael Hall on the right in this photo.  I always felt they resembled each other to an uncanny degree; two stunningly handsome men with hearts to match.  After getting to know Rodney and Tayler very closely, I began believing that (and to this day, I still do) it was Rodney's incredible relationship with Tayler that may have played a large part in Rodney changing his mind about having children of his own one day. Their love, respect, understanding, bond, friendship and trust for one another was sincerely too great, too big, too true to conceive of.  Rodney, thank you for blessing me and my life by coming into it. You will be not only missed, but also remembered dearly for all time. You, my friend, are timeless.

My uncle, my best friend, my protector. Rodney you've been everything to me for as long as I can remember. From early childhood jamming to Metallica, WASP, and Slayer. Teenage years of going to concerts together, introducing me to everybody. But most importantly my early adult years, teaching me, guiding me to be the best I can be and always having my back, picking me up whenever I feel like I've fallen. Especially last year living together. That has got to be the best time I've ever had. You'll never know how much I love and look up to you. You've been my best friend, uncle, and big brother from day one. I will see you again someday. I love you with everything in me Uncle Rodney.

My memories of Rodney are of him as a small child. What a kind  heart and sweet smile.  He grew into a man with a kind soul.  He was loved.

Rodney was the first of Dave’s friends to always look out and have my back. Ever since he always had my back and we had many a deep conversations. We also has so many fun times in life and on the boats. I will forever miss him!

Rodney was my rock-n-roll Axel Rose lookalike cousin who had a tough persona which I'm sure led people to think he was unapproachable. However, when our paths crossed at family functions, I was delighted with his joy and quick-witted humor. 

One of my favorite memories with Rodney was in Cathy and Jeff's basement a number of years ago where he and my brothers had cut up about something. He had a wonderful laugh! 

Another favorite memory I experienced was after his passing. Rene posted a video of Rodney's surprise 50th birthday party. He was so delighted to see his family there, and I know he felt loved. I could see some Aunt Dinah in his, "Come on, sing!" request. 

Things are different now, and we will surely miss Rodney. I pray that each one struggling with his passing is comforted by the people who are still here for you. If not, then I pray that Jesus brings you an incomprehensible peace through time. When you feel weak, know that He is strong and let Him guide you to do the next right thing. 

Much can be learned when we watch people pass from this form to the next. But all we can change is what is here on earth. So if there is something stirring within you to bring forth, then do it! We depend on you to make this world a better place. 

I love you Aunt Becky, Uncle Rob, Rene, Taylor, and the rest of the gang. You were so very supportive to us growing up, and we appreciate the love you've given us. You've attended family functions, baseball games, and even shared residencies with members of the family. Your kindness is not overlooked but greatly appreciated. I pray that your family is blessed beyond measure and that we make it a higher priority to see each other more often.

My sweet bubba.  You were always here for me, all I had to do was call and you would come running.  I just wish you had called me.  I have 45 years of memories of you so I can't just pick one.  You will forever be with me, telling me how everything is going to be alright my beautiful sister.  I'm so grateful that you are my brother. I'm going to miss your laughter, oh your cackling laughter.  I'm going to miss your smile, and just your mannerisms in general.  You were definitely one of a kind.  You had such a caring heart, I'm hearing all the stories.  My children miss you oh so much. Little Koda. Rodney was my older cousin. I always looked up to him. He gave me my first cigarette and he told me Saturday my older brother gave him his.
He was the funniest person I ever knew. 
He shaped my life more than he or I ever knew til now. 
I'm so glad i got to see him at our family reunion last Saturday.
It's a damn shame he's gone. 


A sad loss for the heads of Smyrna. Back in the day if you got to hear Rodney and  Chuck and his crew jam it was something special. I went to Osborne High with Rodney and many other’s hanging at the the circle K , where Rodney stood out as a thriving musician , if you got to hear him and the boys rock it was awesome. Long live the memories of  Rodney Hall, Chuck Watkins, & Chris Bishop. All taken too soon 🙁

My sincere condolences to Rodney's family. In spite of any shortcomings, Rodney had a ton of friends, and that speaks volumes about his character. He was full of life and he will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Going to concerts in Atlanta won’t be the same now, and I am so happy to have gotten him to meet some of his metal heroes.   When Rodney was at a convention you knew you were going to laugh and have a good time. He was always a party ,  but most importantly he was very special and a good friend. Rest In Peace now my friend... 

You were always so kind and thoughtful. A true gentleman. So full of life and loved people and music. So many shows will not be the same without you there. You shouldn't have been taken from us,  you were a good man. I will miss your smile when you saw me enter a venue you were at. The best hugs followed. I'll miss so much about you my friend! I first met Rodney when I was in the 7th grade (87-88). I was walking down the train tracks (silver comet trail) when I heard a band playing Slayer from a big red barn. I waited till they were done and knocked on the door. A tall slender man with great metal hair opened the door and barked at me, I was like, slayer slayer slayer slayer slayer. and he was like, slayer slayer. Then they went into playing More Slayer! Years later I was a drummer in an young up and coming metal band and one night at the wreck-room my band left me at the bar, I found myself chatting with a tall slender man who gave me a ride home and introduced me to someone who later became my musical partner in crime.  A year later I  found myself joining a band with Rodney on vocals. After a few weeks I learned that he was one of my fathers students at Osborne high school.  He use to always say, I can't believe that my drummer is RC's kid. Once the both of us got stuck at the Wreckage benefit in 92. Somehow we both made it home safely. I always felt that had he not have been with me, something really bad would have happened that night. We parted ways by summer of 92 but remained friends at every show we would see each other at. My heart aches as he was always a staple at shows. He was larger than life and never a dull moment. Our world is a little smaller now, you will be greatly missed brother! HAILS!

I am at a loss, we just saw each other at the family reunion on May 15th and not but a few days later you are gone. I remember the week I came and spent with the family one Summer, MANY a years ago. You introduced me to this band I had never heard of, Metallica, I fell in love with their music! When I got home I went out and bought the Master of Puppets cassette tape because that's the one you let me listen to & I actually still have it. You are going to be missed by many but you will remain in our hearts. 

Rodney and I had a brief relationship about 25 years ago. We had some great times and stayed friends for the next 25 years. He was truly a fixture at all the places where our friends would gather. We will all miss him greatly. Fly to the Angels, Rodney. Peace and love to all who are grieving him. 

I honestly don't remember many people from my convention days. I know that sounds odd because I was out hawking movies and pictures for over five years, but I don't. You I remember. You were funny and kind to everyone. I truly enjoyed talking with you and just being in your presence. I hope you are happy where ever you are. Know that I always smile when I think about you. 

Where do I even start. I'm speechless and heartbroken as we all are. So many memories, so many fun times and funny stories. There will never be another like you, you were one of a kind. "The Last Request" is dwindling down my friend. Give our love to Chuck and Scott! I will forever hear your voice singing when I listen to Megadeth/In My Darkest Hour.  Thank you for that memory especially!! Enjoy your new role as guardian angel!! I know you will rock it!! Peace and love!!!

I am so incredibly sorry to hear about Rodney. I knew him from Sea Ray.  He was always,  always so kind, friendly,  and a great guy to talk with.  I will keep all of you in my prayers.  I feel very blessed to have known him. 

We worked right by each other at sea ray for 6 years he was a great guy loved him he will be missed dearly. RIP Rodney 💔🖤    Thoughts and prayers to all the family and friends.

I worked with Rodney on the TV show The Walking Dead amongst other movies and TV shows. He always kept us laughing in between takes. He was a laid back guy with a big heart. Sending condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his family and friends.

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Rodney for years at Sea Ray and you are right he was always making you laugh. Even after all these years he would still hit you up on Facebook just to see how you were doing. May God grant you peace and all the good memories in the days to come
