After graduating from Tennessee Technological University, with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1985, Bob took a job in Atlanta, Georgia where he resided until his passing. He was employed by Heidelberg, USA for the past 26 years.
Bob married his college sweetheart September 7th, 1985, who joined him in Atlanta. Together they loved raising their son Robert Clark Myers of Milledgeville, Georgia.
One of his proudest accomplishments was being part of the York Dragon Football Program from 1976 to 1980. The hard work and discipline he learned through football was spoken of so often by Bob, most recently at this year’s York Homecoming Bond fire. He translated his love of football locally by being one of the founding families of the North Cobb Christian Football program in 2007. He loved watching Eagles football grow and provide the opportunity for players to learn skills that would serve them throughout their life. Bob also served on the Eagles Booster Club steering the athletic program and gaining sponsorships for the first football season on The Eagles home field
Bob was also involved in Youth Ministry at Burnt Hickory Church of Christ for 6 years. Bob and Cathy loved hosting youth parties at their home as well as traveling and teaching in Sunday School. Bob had an incredible ability to connect with the younger generation.
Bob was an avid lover of music and loved to listen to records from his massive collection. He also enjoyed sharing the trivia associated with rock and roll music. Bob also collected comic books specifically, the Superman comic books, naming his son after Clark Kent.
Besides spending time with his wife and son, one of his very favorite past times was spending time with old teammates - Larry Crabtree, Jeff Garrett and Benny Hughes and their families. Reliving old memories and making new ones.
Bob was loved by everyone he knew. Always smiling and quick to share a joke or wit.
Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine Johnson Myers and his son Robert Clark Myers. He is also survived by his three sisters Pat Wilson (Louisville, KY), Lisa Sisk (South Bend, Indiana) and Sandy Harris (Murfreesboro, Tn)
