Dr. Richard Harold Weber, age 92, of Acworth, GA was called home to heaven on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was born in Buffalo, New York on April 17, 1926 to Samuel and Edna Weber. Richard graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, and received an Honorary Doctorate from Antioch Bible College. Richard, “Dick” as his family and friends called him, lived his life to honor his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He served for many years as a minister of two non-denominational churches in NY and FL, and then moved to the Atlanta area to serve as the SE regional director for The One Mission Society for over 20 years. Dick and wife Faith travelled to over 20 different countries on mission trips around the world.
Sergeant Richard Weber served honorably in the Army Air Force during World War II. He loved his country and his fellow veterans. He was a member of the American Legion Post 45 in Canton, GA where he served as a chaplain. Later he was a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2681 in Marietta, GA.
Dick’s friends and family remember him as a humorous man who loved to play games, and often brought a smile to those around him. He loved sacred music, sang in a gospel quartet during college, and sang with Faith at church meetings and at home for their entire marriage. Always a piano or organ in their home, Dick loved to play hymns and worship songs almost daily. Most of all, he loved God and his family. Dick was married to Faith (Cormack) for over 66 years and they raised a wonderful family of three children. Dick and Faith shared the good news of the gospel and the love of Christ with everyone they met.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory: wife, Faith Weber; sons, Daniel L. Weber (wife Julie), Daryl H. Weber (wife Pamela); daughter, Dawn A. Stoudt (husband Harold); Richard’s brother, Paul J. Weber; sister, Grace M. Crowden; 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Richard’s family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at Harvest Baptist Church in Acworth. A funeral service will follow immediately at the church at 10:30 AM. Richard will then go to his final resting place at 1:30 PM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors.
