Nancy Damaris Brown

Ms. Nancy Damaris Brown, age 74, of Woodstock, GA., passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Ms. Brown was born on May 1, 1942 in Blakely, GA., a daughter of the late E.M. Brown and Lizzie Eunice Brown.

After receiving her master’s degree, Nancy spent over thirty years as a middle school teacher in Fairfax Co. Virginia. After retirement she made her way down to Georgia to be closer to her family. Nancy was a devoted member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church in Powder Springs and loved being a part of her ladies church group. In her spare time, she could be found working in her flower garden, painting, and watching birds. Nancy also loved listening to old church hymns, playing bridge, and being around the people she loved. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents Nancy is preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Brown and Wayne Brown; and three sisters, Rosa Duffel, Sue Craft, and Sybil Bates.

She survived by two brothers, Jimmy Brown of Elkhorn, Wisconsin and Billy Brown of Thomasville, GA; two sisters, Lucy Brooks of Milton, FL and Faye Davenport of Woodstock, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Brown will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will take place following the interment services for Ms. Brown at the 1890 Farmhouse of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.

A visitation with the family will take place from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until the time of service on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the funeral home.

The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers, Chuck Davenport, Zachary Davenport, David Johnston, Billy Spencer, John Clark, and Clayton Tolbert.
