Martha Herring Faircloth

Martha Herring Faircloth, age 83, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was born in Deatsville, Alabama to the late Ralph and Julia Herring. Martha was strong in her faith and was a long time member of Roswell Street Baptist Church. She was a college graduate from Huntington College in 1962, and obtained her Masters from West Georgia College. As a member of Caring Connections and her senior Sunday school class, she made many friends and helped many people. Martha was an incredible teacher, and loved her students dearly. She retired from East Cobb Middle School where she taught for many years . Martha was hardworking and always made sure her students had what they needed to succeed. Martha was a sports fan, especially the Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. She was a proud season ticket holder for UGA for 60 years, and she never missed a Georgia vs. Florida football game. Martha was the Mardi Gras Queen in 2011, and helped with the balls, floats, and teas. She was always dressed to the nines, and wore the colors of her grandchildren sports team to show her support. Most of all Martha loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family dearly. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Martha will be missed by all that knew her. Martha is survived by her daughter; Julie Kirk (Randy). Son; James Raiford Faircloth III (Melissa), Brothers; Dr. James Herring and Les Herring, grandchildren; Bethany, Ben, Ryan, Blake, Haley, and Bradley, ten great grandchildren, and many other loving family members. Martha is preceded in death by her loving husband; James Raiford Faircloth Jr. A visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive guest from 2:00 PM until service time. Private interment will follow at a later date in Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
