Malinda S. Chimenti, age 62, of Woodstock GA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 5, 2023, after a 6-month battle with cancer. She was born in Erie, PA on July 10, 1960, daughter of the late Bill and Patty Mountain Shorts.
After dating for 10 years, Malinda married Dave Chimenti on May 10, 1986. They enjoyed 46 beautiful years together and created many great memories and 3 awesome children. They loved to go drag racing with her family. Her most important job was to be a stay-at-home mom. Malinda loved her children more than anything. She spent most of their childhood at track, cross country meets, baseball and basketball games. She never missed a game or meet and screamed louder than every other parent in the stands. Despite the deep rivalry, she was the biggest Clemson and Alabama fan. Malinda loved to spend time with her grand pets and loved them all dearly. She would drop everything for her family and friends and would help whenever someone needed something. Malinda loved to travel to the beach, talk on the phone with her sister, hang out with friends and family, and above all else, spend time with her kids. She also loved to shop, go to craft shows and buy souvenirs on every vacation. She loved to go to Buc-ees and has every branded item you can buy from there. She knew every word to all the rock and roll songs and never turned down a good dance floor. She was as spunky and sassy as they come, always told it like it was, and was labeled as the “cool mom”.
In addition to her parents, Malinda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dan Timko and several beloved family members all of Erie. Malinda is survived by her husband Dave, children, Danielle (Jackson) Brumbeloe, Nicole Chimenti, William (Madison) Chimenti and sister Linda Shorts-Timko (Keith Hasbrouck); pets Shorty and Stella, grand-dog Luna, and grand-cats Milo, Mia, Oscar, and Bonkers; as well as many cherished friends and family members.
Family and friends may call at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 30152 on Sunday, January 8 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and are also invited to attend the funeral service there on Monday January 9 at 10:00am.
