July 18, 1948 – September 6, 2024
Lynn Barbee Seabolt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in Savannah, GA, Lynn graduated from Jenkins High School before embarking on a life filled with love, laughter, and community.
On March 7, 1967, Lynn married Ray Seabolt, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love. In 1978, they relocated to Atlanta, where they spent the majority of their years, first in Smyrna and more recently in Dallas, GA. Lynn enjoyed a successful career in property management, but her greatest joy came from her family and the vibrant life she built around them.
Lynn is survived by her devoted husband Ray Seabolt; their son Craig Seabolt and his wife Sherry; their daughter Joy Stymest and her husband John; and her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Duncan, Carson Seabolt, Chandler Seabolt, Jarrett Stymest, and Marley Stymest. She also leaves behind her granddaughter-in-love, Sophie Duncan; her sisters June Petrea and Charlene Curl, brother-in-law John Curl; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Charlie Barbee and Bea Barbee Parker, her brother Pat Barbee, and her brother-in-law Jimmy Petrea.
Lynn’s passions were wide-ranging and heartfelt. She adored the beach, loved to travel, and had a special place in her heart for dancing and cats. Known for her warmth and exuberant spirit, Lynn was a natural conversationalist who never met a stranger. Her home was always a welcoming haven, filled with the sounds of laughter, lively conversations, and a house full of loved ones.
Lynn’s life was a testament to the power of love and community. When she and Ray moved to Paulding County, many might have expected a quieter life, but Lynn embraced the opportunity to connect with her new neighbors, becoming a surrogate grandmother (Hannah Speeney) and friend to many. Her home was always open, and her heart was always full. She believed in making everyone feel welcome and special, a philosophy she lived by every day.
Lynn will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her boundless generosity, her infectious joy, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.
A memorial service to honor Lynn’s life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, located at 2950 Cobb Pkwy N, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
