Ken Gregg affectionately known as “Kenny G” to most was born on August 10th, 1966, in Birmingham, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his personal savior as a teenager and was a member of Grace Community Christian Church. He graduated from Fairfield Highschool in Birmingham, Al. He was the son of Franklin Delano Reed and Freddie Mae Gregg. He was the youngest of five brothers. Left to cherish his memory, his mother, Freddie Mae Gregg, Birmingham, AL; His wife, April Gregg, Acworth, GA; his children, Aundrea Bui (Duy), New Orleans, LA, DeAndre Gregg, Denver, CO, Kennedy Gregg, Acworth, GA; siblings: Bruce Gregg (Annie) of Fredericksburg, VA, Mike Gregg of Indianapolis, IN, Keith Gregg, Kennesaw, GA, Frederick Gregg, Birmingham, AL, Dwayne Reed, Birmingham, AL, Seneatha Reed, Birmingham, AL; Grandchildren: Karson and Krane Gregg, Denver, CO, and one on the way, New Orleans, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Franklin Delano Reed, and grandparents John Henry Williams, Gennittia Knott, Bryce Reed and Nannie Bell Hamby.
Ken was no stranger to hard work, having engaged in many jobs over the years. His industrious spirit drove him to explore various fields. Ken worked as a Marketing Manager for GMR Promotional Marketing and MARS Advertising. He started several businesses over the years. He was the owner of Pictures -N- Frames, (custom framing company) as well as More Access Trucking, LLC, (transportation company) as an independent contractor. Ken ended his work journey as a driver for Shermin Williams. Each experience contributing to the entrepreneurial workings of his life.
A sports fanatic through and through, Ken found joy and camaraderie in the world of athletics. Whether coaching local youth teams, cheering on his favorite teams (University of Alabama, LA Lakers, and Atlanta Falcons) or participating in sports, his passion for sports added an energetic and competitive flair to his life. Notably, he attended 18 Super Bowls over the years.
Outgoing and charismatic, always the life of the party, Ken effortlessly connected with people from all walks of life. He never met a stranger a day in his life. He loved people and people loved him. His social magnetism and zest for life created a network of friends and acquaintances who will cherish the memories of his vibrant personality.
Behind the fun-loving exterior lay a determined soul. Ken faced challenges head-on, refusing to back down. His stubbornness, while sometimes complicated, was a testament to his resilience and unwavering commitment to his principles.
In remembering Ken, we celebrate a life lived authentically and on his terms. As we bid farewell, let us honor his indomitable will and the enduring legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.
