Joni D. Thames

Joni Thames was born July 4th, 1957, in LaGrange, Georgia. She passed away peacefully under the care of Tranquility Hospice Friday December 13th, 2024, at the age of 67. Joni was the beloved wife of Rusty for 32 years.

Joni was a shining light to all who had the privilege to know her. Her journey is marked by her love and commitment to her family. She showed a deep love for the world around her, showcasing it most profoundly with animals, treasuring her Bichon Frise, Pinky Pie. She kept everyone’s spirits up with her sharp and quick wit.

Joni Thames is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Harry Hale; grandmother, Mabel Harry; and nephew, Noah Thames.

Joni leaves behind her loving husband, Rusty and their dog Pinky Pie; sister, Laurie (Carroll) Dodd;

brother, Garry Hale; nieces and nephews, Austin Dodd, Evan Dodd (Kaitlyn), Jade Thames, John Paul Vinson, Christy Hale, Josh Hale, and Tommy Hale; cousins, Dani Seeds and Robbie Harry; brother-in-law David Thames; and sister-in-law, Grace Vinson (Mike).

Although Joni’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.

A chapel service will be held at Winkenhofer Funeral Home Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
