John Griswold Cooke

John Griswold Cooke, of Acworth, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born on February 29, 1948 to the late Paul Griswold Cooke and Georgia Lee Cooke. John was a history buff, who was especially interested in military and war history. He was involved in several historical organizations and clubs. Mr. Cooke enjoyed traveling, antiques and socializing with family and friends. John was a clever and witty man with a big heart and personality who always had a humorous outlook. John would have celebrated the 13th year of his heart transplant this Valentine’s Day. Those 13 years allowed him to continue pursuing activities while enjoying the special times and moments of life. He will be forever cherished and remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

John G. Cooke is survived by his wife, Sharon Cooke. He is preceded in death by his son, John Paul Cooke. John is also survived by his grandson, Christopher G. Cooke, brother Thomas Cooke and wife Wendy; daughter-in-law, Leah Cooke, and niece and nephew.

A memorial service to honor the life of John Cooke will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A gathering will follow services at 2:30 in the Event Center of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
