Joelle Christine Keili was born at the Dekalb Medical Hospital in Atlanta ,Georgia on Saturday, June 2nd, 2007. She was the youngest of four children born to Joseph and Edna Keili. She spent her early days being cared for by a community of people including her parents, older siblings Aunties, Uncles, and close family friends. Joelle grew up at St. Augustine’s Place, Marietta Georgia, where she learned to ride a bike, do a cartwheel, and reached other milestones. Joelle was a happy and playful child who would always join in the latest fight with her older siblings or join in any “shenanigans” going on: like being swung by her hands and feet (which resulted in a trip to the ER). She grew up quite fast and at an early age developed a sharp sense of humor and wit. Her older brother (by 8years) was said to fear no one, but Joelle.
Joelle’s formal education began with attending a pre-school named KIDS-R-First in Marietta, GA. Her teachers, particularly the Head of the school, loved how cute and kind Joelle was. She was full of compassion and excitement for each lesson planned. Joelle spent her kindergarten through fourth grade years at Lockheed Elementary before her family moved to Kennesaw, GA in 2016 and she finished off her elementary education at Lewis Elementary. In 2018, Joelle started her middle school experience at Awtrey Middle School. She was in Girls-on-the-run, a preliminary track club, and the choir. Joelle started her high school education in 2021 at Allatoona High School. Her high school experience was a rude awakening to the complexities of life. However, she was constantly reminded at home and within her church community that the “Steadfast Love of God Never Ceases”.
Joelle developed a few, but deep friendships. One friend knew Joelle from the time she was 6 and kept in touch even when she moved six states away in 2022. She had a friend group known as the 4-Lifers where she learned to be a great friend and planned events until her death. They celebrated countless birthdays, Quinceaneras, Mall-trips, and house visits.
Joelle was known as 'Princessa,' 'Kiddo,' 'Joey Parker,' ‘Moomoo’, 'Joe,' ‘Girlfriend’ and so many more nicknames that embodied how special she was. Joelle appreciated those in her life and held them close to her heart.
Joelle is survived by her parents, brother, sisters, aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a gift from God, and she will be remembered as such. WE THANK GOD for every smile, laugh and precious moment we shared with her. We would always be grateful for the time we had with her and move forward with the love she gave us in our hearts.
