My memories are only beautiful.

 I am Duane and Joan was my first cousin, not only first cousin being my father’s brother’s child, but first being the eldest of my first cousins, a status and position in the family she lived and upheld very well as we would look up to her. She could be characterized being the most loving and caring person you could’ve known, her advice was always an amicable solution, never had anything negative to say about anyone,  she was someone you could talk to just about anything, always quick to lend a listening ear, and you heard it, she was a peacemaker- one of the greatest attributes and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.  In the book of Matthew 5:9 it says blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of god. In this same book 22:37-40 you will also learn that love is the greatest commandment of all, of which, Joan displayed very well.
Joan and I remained in touch constantly for a period of time up to recent, and one thing that I’m very happy about, she relied upon the source of God before she got sick, but she also depended upon the source of God during her trying times, she founded refuge, strength, reassurance and comfort in God almighty.
We’ll miss her calls, we’ll miss her chats, we’ll miss her comforting words and we’ll miss hearing her voice. Death is not the end, and I hope in the resurrection we will behold each other in a better life.
Here is a quote I’m  going to share with you from the actor Morgan Freeman, and you can attached this to Joan’s resume, it goes like this: 
“At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought, but what we built; not what we got, but what we shared; not our competence, but our character, not our success, but our significance.”
Live a life that matters.
Live a life of love. 
Joan live a life of love; rest in peace my cousin.

Joan you will be missed Dearly, I remember working night shift with you and you would sing ‘ Anthony Brown song ‘Worth’ throughout the hallways and building and while waiting for your taxi, We love you and may your sweet tender spirit live on forever. Love Tamu Stewart

TO THE FAMILY OF JOAN JORDAN:          My deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved Jo.  Joan was very special.  she was so loving and compassionate, always ready to forgive and forget.  God saw that she couldn't take the pain and suffering any longer, so he called her to rest.  take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and rest, and more importantly she had given her heart to the Lord.  she now awaits the resurrection.  I am missing her already.  I miss her phone calls.  We would often talk for hours reminiscing about growing up together and the fun times we had, and we would laugh to our hearts content. she had such a contagious laugh.  we joked about her favorite quote to her siblings "I am the bigger one". I met Joan thru  the Chambers family as we prayed  online. Although we never met in person, as she resided in Georgia and I live in Florida, we enjoyed fellowshipping and praying together on line. 
I express condolences to her family on behalf of all members of our Thursday night prayer group . We surely miss her soft, calm voice. God loves you and will take care of you.

Joan was a very caring person. She would often call me just to see how I was doing. She wanted to know how my children were, her aunts and uncles. She would not leave anyone out. we would pray together, we would tell each other I love you. Before we would hang up the phone, She would say auntie our talks make me feel so much better. Words can't express how much I will miss her and her strong laughter. You fought a good fight and now you are resting. Sleep well my niece.

Joan always had a positive outlook on life. She was always looking for the good in people and had a heart filled with compassion. Her smile always made me feel at ease. She was a devoted woman of God with a beautiful spirit. She will be truly missed! Praying for peace and comfort for the family.
